How to Prepare Beans and Yam Porridge

Beans and yam porridge is a meal enjoyed in and around the country. It contains the essential classes of food such as protein, carbohydrate, fat & oil. It can be enjoyed watery or thick. You can choose to add other ingredients like fish. It can be enjoyed with drinking garri or bread. It is super easy and full of nutrients. So, enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • 5 slices of yam
  • 4 cups of beans
  • 1 tbs of crayfish
  • 3 ata rodo
  • 1 spoon of palm oil
  • 1 medium-sized onion
  • Seasoning cubes
  • Salt to taste

Cooking steps:

  • Measure the beans and pick it clean out of the dirt. Wash the┬ábeans and pour into a clean pot. Add water about 2 inches above the beans, add chopped onions and allow to boil till the beans are soft.
  • Peel the yam, rinse and cut into chunks. Blend the pepper and keep aside. Once the beans are soft, add the yams and allow to cook for 10mins.
  • Add the pepper, crayfish, seasoning cubes, salt, and palm oil. Then allow cooking till the yam is soft and water dried up.

Your beans and yam porridge is ready!
