Causes of Malaria

The female Anopheles mosquito is the only mosquito responsible for malaria. The mosquitoes that carry plasmodium parasite get it from biting a person or animal that already has been infected. The parasite then goes through various changes that enable it to infect the next creature the mosquito bites. Once it’s in you, it multiplies in the liver and changes again, getting ready to infect the next mosquito that bites you. It then enters the blood stream and invades red blood cells. Eventually, the infected red blood cells burst. This sends the parasites throughout the body and causes symptoms of malaria. The successful development of the parasite within the mosquito depends on several factors, the most important include humidity and ambient temperatures.

Typhoid is an infection caused by the bacteria salmonella typhimurium. It is an acute illness associated with fever. It can also be caused by salmonella paratyphi, a related bacterium that usually causes a less severe illness. The bacteria are deposited in water or food by a human carrier and are then spread to other people in the area. No animals carry this disease, so transmission is always human to human. It is a life threatening disease.
Causes of Typhoid
Typhoid is caused by salmonella typhimurium bacteria that are spread from human to human. It spread easily through contaminated water, unhygienic food and drinks. The bacteria is carried by the infected people in their intestine and blood stream and it passes through the urine and faeces. The infection is usually spread when sewage water gets mixed with drinking water and it is consumed, or when a person consumes any food or water handled by an infected person.

- Firstly, always drink boiled water
- Drink lots of fluids like water, juices, coconut water, and milkshakes. It helps the parasites move out from the body quickly.
- High carbohydrate diet like rice, it is easy to digest and releases energy faster.
- Have a high protein diet which helps to protect the body and helps in the synthesis of immune bodies which will fight against parasites.
- Stay away from fats. They should be far from your meals as they make meals heavy, and is difficult to digest.
- Always eat combination of fruits and vegetables with different colours. They help detox the body.
- Omega-3 fats help to reduce inflammation in the body.
- Always take multivitamins, B-complex, and minerals. They help to rejuvenate your body.

- Fluid diet in form of tender coconut water, barley water, fresh fruit juice, vegetable soup, electrolyte fortified water, buttermilk, and water until temperature returns to normal.
- Gradually take fruits like bananas, cantaloupes, watermelons, grapes, peaches, and apricots.
- Semi-solid foods can be given as the person’s appetite gets better, such as boiled rice, baked potato, soft boiled eggs, baked apple, yoghurt, and vegetable soup.
- Fruits, boiled vegetables, and unrefined foods like unpolished rice and white bread can be included when you are free from the fever.
